Two days on a boat, two days in Venice. And not at the same time....

GA is off to Milano for a few days of fun celebration, it's Neil's birthday the 4th. We have new friends there we've met through cs, Francesca and Michele we're excited to meet. We took the ferry line from Patra, Greece to Venezia and got extra burned for our troubles (sleeping on the deck on lounge seats might not have been the best call). And since getting in we've been meandering about Venezia, getting some sightseeing in. And gelato. About eight scoops. An hour. Soooo good. And it's helped put some weight back on. Venice, as is widely known and accepted, beautiful and interesting. Walking from the Maestre Centre(?) to the Palazzo San Marco, Arsenale, along the canals, through the tight alleys. It's fantastic. And incredibly tourist-y. We walked along, in and out of the heavy pedestrian traffic and tried to picture it minus the excess people and schwag-peddlers. Oh well. Very beautiful city none the less. Now, we're off to the train station. We'll be practicing our Italian on the ride. Tre Fernet Branca per favore. Grazie mille. Cin cin. Buono sera Bella. That ought to cover it, right? (pictures to follow, posting via iPhone) Stay awesome amicos
